Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Manama in Bahrain. She grew up as part of an multiethnic family. Jacqueline Fernandez's mother Kim and her father Elroy were both born in Malaysia. There are two brothers younger than her and a older sister. The 80s were the time when her parents emigrated to Bahrain in protest against the civil war in Sri Lanka. In the end, she was both born and raised in Bahrain. When she finished her studies in Bahrain and after that, she received the Scholarship to pursue a degree at Sydney's University of Sydney, where she pursued a degree with a major in Media and Communications in Sydney, Australia. To further develop her passion for the world of languages, cultures and languages, she was enrolled at the Berlitz school of languages, in which she could master Spanish in addition to improving French as well as Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 won Miss Universe 2006 competition in March of 2006, and later competed as Miss Universe 2006 also. Following her victory in 2006, Miss Sri Lanka win, Padukone made her debut on television as host of a TV show on Sri Lankan Business named Lanka Business Report. Padukone's father is badminton-player Prakash Padukone. Padukone has been raised both in Copenhagen as well as Bangalore. When she was a teenager she competed in badminton at national level championships but left her professional career to pursue a career as a model. Padukone is a native of Mangalorean roots and is fluent in Konkani as her mother tongue. Padukone is a village located within the Kundapura Taluk located in Udupi in Karnataka State, India, is where her lineage comes from. Prakash Padukone's father was an international champion in badminton who has retired. The mother of the child is a travel agent.
